1、unknown 当名词
名词的意思是“未知的事物、陌生的事物”：
例：
（1）The fear of the unknown might prevent you from getting out of your comfort zone.
（对未知事物的害怕可能会让你无法踏出舒适圈。）
（2）For Grace, motherhood is a journey into the unknown.
（对格蕾丝来说，成为母亲是一趟踏入未知的旅程。）
unknown 很多时候也用作“无名之辈”这个贬义词
例
（1）The champion was defeated by an unknown.
（一个无名之辈打败了冠军）
（2）Ten years ago, he was an unknown in the gang.

2、unknown 当形容词
形容词多用于表达是“未知的、不熟悉的”的意思，比较少表达“从未发生的；从未存在的”的意思
例：
（1）The suspect’s identity remains unknown.
（嫌犯的身份依旧未明。）
（2）These paintings are usually done by unknown artists.
（这些画通常是由不知名的艺术家画的。）
（3）For some unknown reasons, the dog died.

Anonymous
adj.无名的；不知姓名的；不留名的；匿名的;出自无名氏之手的；来源不明的；不具名的;无特色的；无个性特征的;匿名的，不公开姓名的（常用于组织名称中）;
Anonymous只作为形容词
例：
（1）One anonymous student raises concerns about the increasing number of homeless people in the country.
（一位匿名的学生让大众开始关切这个国家逐渐增加的游民人数。）
（2）I got an anonymous letter.
（我收到一封匿名信。）
Anonymous 也可以指“无特色的、平淡无奇的”
例：
（1）The 《Shang-chi》 male lead actor has a fairly anonymous face.
（《上气》的男主角长得真没有什么特色。）

（2）There is an anonymous gray building.
（这是一栋不起眼的灰色建筑。）
anonymous和 unknown 最主要的差别就在于：
anonymous 指的是当事人不愿意透漏姓名、刻意隐藏姓名；
unknown 指的是未知的，并没有包含当事人掩盖身份的意图。
例：
The money was donated by a local doctor who wishes to remain anonymous.
（这些钱是由一名当地医生捐赠的，他不愿意透露姓名。）
